A weekly toonie 50/50 Lottery fundraiser of the SPCA Baccalieu Trail!

HOW TO PLAY - Get your ticket number for $2 at any participating retailer. This number is yours to keep and play for the entire duration of the lottery. We will draw each Wednesday for a minimum cash prize of 50% of the money collected that week. TO PLAY AGAIN the next week you must bring a Toonie to any participating retailer. Write your ticket number on a sticker (provided at the retailer), put it on your Toonie and drop it in our box. You must play by the end of Monday to be guaranteed to be in the draw on Wednesday. If the number we draw has not been played, the prize that week is added to the next week. This escalating jackpot will grow until we find a winner! We are thrilled to announce that United Way Newfoundland and Labrador has provided funding for our new Seniors' Pet Pantry Program. This program is designed to support seniors in our community by providing a one-time supply of pet food to help ease the cost of caring for their pets.

To register for pet food assistance, please call us at 709-596-7722 to speak with a member of our team. The office is open 1pm-4pm.

SPCA Baccalieu Trail Calendar Contest 2027!

Is your pet the most adorable one out there? Would you like to have your pet featured on the cover of our calendar for everyone else to see? Then get your camera out and snap the cutest pic of your pet and submit it to our calendar contest!

The deadline to submit photos and a $5 fee per photo is June 26, 2026. This $5 is an entrance fee and there will be an option to pre-purchase calendars at the end of the contest. Calendars will be available to pick up in early fall. Extras will also be available to purchase at that time. We can make arrangements to mail calendars to you but shipping fees will be extra.

Please read all rules before entering contest

Rules:

-Each photo submitted has a $5 submission fee

-You can have more than 1 animal in the photo (still $5 per photo)

-You can submit several photos of different animals or the same animal multiple times (still $5 per photo)

-You must email your good resolution photo(s) and you must include your pet(s) name as you want it printed in the calendar (ie if you want a nickname or last name to be printed make sure it is sent with the email of the photo of your pet) to btspcapetcalendar@hotmail.com ***Photos sent to any other email address may not be included. Please note the photos are sent to a different email address than the EMT***

-When you have emailed your photo(s) you have 5 days to send your EMT (for the total number of photos you emailed) to info@baccalieutrailspca.net. You must include your name in the message of the EMT and the name of your pet so we will know who has paid EMT’s sent to any other address will not be received, please double check before you send We have auto deposit so no passwords!

-You will get an email back at the email you sent the photos from to confirm that your photo(s) and EMT(s) have been received; if you do not receive a confirmation email, please check your junk/spam folder. If you do not receive an email back, your photo(s) may not be included in the calendar contest.

- When your photo(s) and EMT(s) have been received, your pet photo(s) will be added to the Facebook Album called 2027 Calendar Contest for SPCA Baccalieu Trail on the SPCA Baccalieu Trail Facebook page within 48 hours after you have received your confirmation email.

-Once the photo(s) are added to the Facebook album, people can then start voting by hitting “like” or “love” under the picture they choose. Any comments below the photos will not be counted as votes, only “likes” and “loves” for that photo will be counted.

-Voting will end June 26th 11:59pm so, the earlier you enter your photo, the more chances that you’ll get enough “likes”/ “loves” to win a spot on the cover!!

There will be 5 winning photos:

-2 dog photos with the most “likes”/” loves”

-2 cat photos with the most “likes”/” loves”

-1 other pet (fish, rabbit, etc) with the most “likes/ “loves”

Prize: These 5 photos will be featured on the cover of the 2027 SPCA Baccalieu Trail Calendar, what more could you want!! But wait, if your pet wins a spot on our cover, you will also get a free calendar when they arrive, and a goodie bag.

Note: If you know of any businesses that would like more information of how to include an ad from their business in our 2027 calendar, please have them email info@baccalieutrailspca.net

There will be an opportunity to pre-order calendars or purchase at the thrift store/other businesses at a later date.
